Theme

Step 1

  1. Despite  A challenging childhood you can still have a promised future
  2. Its a difference between loving and being forced to love someone
  3. People aren't exactly who you think they are
Step 2
Theme 1:
Even though a person can have a difficult past/childhood, they can still grow up to be a independent, brave and accomplishing and also meeting their goals. In the beginning of the book Celie was being raped, abused and mentally abused. But towards the middle/end she starts to form bonds with different people and start to feel more comfortable in her own skin and more confidant.
Theme 2:
Celie is the perfect example of someone who is forced to love rather than actually loving someone. In the book she explains that she doesnt feel anything for Mr.__ when he tries to have sex with her. Shug explains to her that you are truly in love when you feel something for your partner.
Theme 3:
This is a theme because when Celie first met Sophia she thought she was this big bad person and didn't have feelings at all for her. But then later in the story they began to form a bond with one another. She concluded that even though Sophia can be rude, loud and violent she was still a loving and caring person. She also concluded that Sophia really does have a heart.
Step 3
The theme that I think stood out to me the most was the theme "Despite of a challenging childhood, you can still have a promising future" I think this theme is important because I know alot of people that went through alot as a child and they ended up growing up being good and amazing people. They became more confident about themselves. The authors use of this theme taught me alot about people in general. It taught me also that being mentally and physically abused can stay with in your for life.
