Summary of what I read pages. 1-13

Today I read about a girl named Celie and how her life is. She gets beaten and raped by her dad and she has had two baby's by him. He takes the kids to the woods and kills them. Her mother was sick and soon died. This guy named Mr.___ comes and tries to marry the younger sister named Nettie but but the father says that she's too young but he can marry Celie. The father describes Celie as being ugly, dirty, dumb, stinky and nasty.But would make a good wife because she can cook and clean. He also described her as being a liar. The father makes Celie feel dumb by taking her out of school and tells her shes too dumb to attend. Now Celie feels like her younger sister is smarter than her and is way more beautiful than her.
